Ken and Tessie Wroe might have been right historically in their letter on the Maltese Cross, which is to appear on the euro coin. The Maltese Cross is called as such because, in time, it has become intrinsically accepted worldwide as being associated with my Malta.

By the way, the Italian Navy (Marina Militare) has a Maltese Cross as part of their coat of arms and, believe or not, they call it as such.
