It never ceases to surprise me how, when losing an argument, people will try to revert to other totally unconnected arguments and comments to try and give their arguments a bit of substance. A case in point is Pierre Galea's contribution (Civic Pride, June 23). Clearly Astrid Vella's actions and campaign have irked Mr Galea no end.
I have so far kept out of this polemic as I do not feel qualified enough to contribute. But now, thanks to Mr Galea, I am left with no choice. He has brazenly chosen to insinuate things about Mrs Vella's family which he had no right to do.
Besides the fact that he is totally wrong, as we never started any money making trends of the sort Mr Galea refers to, he was totally out of line to write such gratuitous statements about families starting trends to make money. I suggest he be a bit more careful and first check his facts before rushing to print.
In this case, he was totally wrong and it was foolish of him to even make these insinuations. As such, I expect an apology to my family.
