The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts is using a quad bike pulling a big, lit-up festival poster to promote the Malta Arts Festival - Summer 2006.

The quad bike, currently stationed in the main street leading up to the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar, will be touring other localities such as the seafronts at Sliema, Bugibba and Marsascala.

The three-week festival will include cultural and animated activities in Freedom Square along with street entertainment during the weekends. Wine bars and cafés of South Street and Strait Street will open for longer hours.

Tickets for the festival are currently available from the Malta Arts Festival Information Stand, in Freedom Square, Valletta, opening opens on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. From July 28, the stand will be open on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 9.30 p.m. and in the weekend from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 9.30 p.m. Ticket prices range from Lm2 to Lm12.
