Eternal epitome of love
A man and wife beyond compare
Priceless gems
Are these your lives
Your spirits,
Pure immortal synergy -
A love that knows
No time or space;
Never weakened by ego's race -
Devotion, selflessness Personified
To us, God's greatest gift
Of grace . . .
A 40 year tumultuous journey;
And yet a fairy-tale
That has no end -
Sweet mum and dad, to us you are
Our everlasting glorious star!
All our love, now and always, Romina and Chandra, Donatella and Mark.
Happy 40th wedding anniversary my beloved nanna and nannu. I love you very much. Abhishek Frederick.

Appreciation - Eric Stuart
Frank Salt writes:
Eric was a man who didn't suffer fools lightly. If you were ever accepted into his circle of friends, then you were very privileged.
I remember him vaguely in his Palm Beach days with Max Stevens, but I got to know him much better when he came to ask my advice on property.
We both realised straightaway that we had certain things in common, which were telling, listening to, and appreciating jokes, also discussing and grumbling about Malta's problems, and how we could solve them.
My real estate company used the services of Eric and Jane many times when we had to look after visiting overseas property journalists because they were, in my opinion, the ideal resident couple, always saying the right things to the journalists... Yes even Eric gave a good supply of cheese, biscuits and wine, and had the wonderful advantage of living in one of the most charming and prettiest houses of character on the island. Eric always said yes when I asked for his help, and this was always appreciated and reciprocated on my side.
Eric was one of those friends that didn't need any frills. You got what you saw, and even after not meeting Eric for a while, when we did meet, our friendship was immediate. The jokes came out, and the discussions continued, as though we had last met the previous day.
Many a time I was sitting at my desk at the office when there was a knock at the door and Eric came in. Have you heard this one, he would say. A joke came out... normally a very funny one. As soon as he finished, he would go away as suddenly as he arrived. The joke usually made my day and, most times, I would reciprocate by giving him a ring and telling him the latest joke I had heard.
We made each other laugh, and that is so important in life. If we could all make each other laugh, and smile, the world would be a much better place.
I used to go to the Landfall club, where Eric and Jane would always serve good English food, in very Maltese surroundings. Eric was very proud of his club and restaurant, his wonderful view of the marina, and his loyal staff.
Eric was older than Jane, but during his heyday, they were a super couple. During Eric's latter years, Jane was a wonderful wife and carer. They had two children that they can be truly proud of Charlotte, an image of her mother and just as caring, and young Ben, who, just lately, has started coming to my office, to chat and discuss today's problems. Last week he even parted with a joke. A chip off the old block, and he's very, very welcome at any time.
Eric has left us. He will never come back, but some people who leave this world do leave lots of pleasant memories. Eric was such a person.
I will always remember Eric with a whole lot of respect and fondness, and I will never forget him being a true, amazing, and quite a unique friend.
May you rest in peace Eric. You deserve it.
