Critical after receiving electric shock

A 20-year-old Valletta man is in critical condition after receiving an electric shock yesterday afternoon, the police said. At about 5 p.m. the police were informed that a person was lying on the ground in his house in St Christopher Street corner with Old Bakery Street. Police investigations indicated that the man had "somehow" received an electric shock. He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was certified in serious condition and put on the danger list.

Duty Magistrate Silvio Meli opened an inquiry and appointed a number of experts to assist him.

The police are investigating.
