HP will be one of the major sponsors of Travelex LifeCycle Challenge 2006, "Over and Above - Crossing the Artic Circle". Over 60 cyclists will be participating in this year's challenge from July 30 to August 12 which starts from Oslo through Kiruna in Sweden up to Rovaniemi in Finland, covering a total of 2,018km in 11 days.
LifeCycle Organisation is a voluntary non-profit organisation which aims to raise funds for the Renal Unit at St Luke's Hospital, to heighten awareness of the causes of renal disease and to promote organ donation by organising activities, events and campaigns. LifeCycle also encourages people to carry a donor card.
Franz Scherz, managing director for HP Country Development Group, said: "Since 1957, HP has been contributing time and resources to communities where it does business. Its worldwide presence and steadfast commitment to global citizenship enables HP to make a difference in the lives of millions of people all over the world."
"The ever-increasing number of patients in Malta with renal disease requires regular upgrades of the facilities and apparatus at St Luke's Hospital to provide the quantity required and the optimum quality," said Alexandra Bonnici, one of the organisers of LifeCycle.
"LifeCycle, together with the government, is directly contributing to a better quality of service for renal patients."
