I would like to thank Exiles Sports Club honorary secretary Sandro Caruana for publicly admitting that holding the activity I remonstrated about was in fact a mistake on their part (The Sunday Times, July 2).

I also thank him for belatedly apologising to me, despite not being a paid-up member of the club. Had I been one, it seems, I would have qualified for an apology on the spot. Hopefully, my "lashing out in a severe, incontrovertible manner" (oh dear, where's the body?) will help his hard-working committee reach more sensible decisions in the future.

And yes, I forgive them for the jellyfish infestation. Only just.
