A few weeks ago, St Cecilia's Kindergarten organised a series of concerts in which the children attending both schools, in Attard and Tarxien, took part.

This is an annual school event, which brings about lots of joy and pleasure for the parents and most of all for the little children involved.

Songs are carefully chosen to appeal to each particular class and into which the children below the age of three really put their hearts and sing away looking terribly in control!

Each class was dressed according to the part. The children behaved so well on stage as they were so enjoying themselves, and gave their parents plenty of reasons to feel content.

The children over three years prepared short musical plays including The Little Red Hens and Jungle Animals. The four- to five-year-olds prepared two longer musicals, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Little Red Riding Hood.

The children pronounced their speaking parts clearly and with great confidence. Very often the audience was delighted by the little jokes and beautiful singing.

The school term also included outings. Sports Day, which was held in the grounds of St Edward's College, was also fun. All the children ran varied races, such as the potato and pyjama race, and in the end everyone received a medal for participation.

A thanksgiving Mass was held during the last week of term in both parish churches of Attard and Tarxien, in which the parents together with the children and their dedicated teachers actively sang and took part.

A jolly party brought school term to a grand finale, for all to have a well-deserved break before resuming Summer School in July.
