The Malta Environment and Planning Authority determined 596 applications and received 709 new applications last month.

The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 4,678. The authority processed 87 notifications of development, which did not require a formal application.

Fifty-nine stop and enforcement notices, of which 36 were in Malta and the rest in Gozo, were issued.

Eighty-nine enforcement cases were closed and 59 enforcement cases sanctioned. Another 26 cases were resolved when owners decided to remove the illegal development and comply with the notice. Four cases were withdrawn by Mepa.

Seventeen cases received by the complaints office were resolved without the need of enforcement action when the owners complied with the instructions issued by the enforcement officers.
