Hawker cleared

A hawker has been cleared of circulating counterfeit DVDs after a magistrate ruled the charges had not been proven.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi cleared Alfred Xuereb, 27, of circulating the DVDs and breaching copyright laws.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted.

Lawyer José Herrera and Roberto Montalto were defence counsel.
