Gzira mayor sues for libel

Gzira mayor Albert Rizzo has filed two libel suits claiming that comments made by Labour Gzira councillors were libellous and defamatory.

The first suit was filed by Mr Rizzo against councillor Anthony Grech over comments he passed during a council meeting on April 17.

The second suit was filed by Mr Rizzo and council executive secretary Romina Camilleri against Mr Grech, Joseph Zammit and Anthony Abela over claims they made during a press conference reported in the May 12 issue of l-orizzont.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio signed the two suits.
