Last summer, the St Paul's Bay mayor declared in this newspaper that the wall built to block the stairs leading to the pretty beach of L-Ghar tal-Veccja was temporary.

A year on, the wall is still there and the dangers from the public and private land are still visible.

Neither the wall nor the sign are stopping people from swimming underneath the dangerous corner as can be seen from the photo.

Immediate repairs are the only solution.
