As a precautionary measure, Cadbury in the UK and Ireland has recalled a number of product lines sold in those two countries after they were found to contain traces of salmonella.

The traces were below any level that has been shown to lead to illness, the company said.

Cadbury said it has identified the source of the problem and rectified it, and stressed that none of the affected batches from these products have been exported to other countries.

However, following consumer confusion, it felt it appropriate to withdraw the products from other markets.

The products are 250G Cadbury Dairy Milk Turkish, 250G Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, 250G Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint, Cadbury Dairy Milk 8 Chunk, 1KG Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Dairy Milk Button Easter Egg 105G and Cadbury Freddo 10p.
