To begin with, I am 100 per cent for helping genuine refugees. Economic immigrants deserve the wrath of the authorities since apart from causing us problems, they greatly undermine the cause of genuine refugees, who certainly deserve better.

The authorities should be firm with the economic migrants, charge them immediately with breaking so many laws and imprison them forthwith.

People who are quick to stamp those who complain as racists do not know what they are talking about. The Maltese are known for their missionary work in distant lands and this is the best demonstration that we are not racists.

While we want to help the immigrants, we do not want them here. How can we cope with them? Are we not entitled to this basic preference?

A moderate movement like the ANR should organise a membership drive and encourage voters to hand it their voting documents in the next general election as a protest against our toothless government.

We are used to dragging our feet until the eleventh hour. Where is our EU? It gives us a pittance. We have been taken for a ride long enough. Where is our ambassador to the EU?

We have a big problem here and we will only do something about it when, God forbid, a large naval vessel containing thousands of these people mistakes Malta for Sicily. Then what?
