A 48-year-old Scottish woman drowned after finding herself in difficulties while diving near Dwejra, Gozo, with members of her family, the police said.

The incident happened yesterday at around 1 p.m.

The woman was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital, where she was certified dead on arrival.

Duty Magistrate Paul Coppini has appointed a number of referees to help him in his inquiry.
