Euro theme for Malta stand at Trade Fair
Over 300 exhibitors
The 49th edition of the Malta Trade Fair will open its doors on Wednesday and remain open until July 16, the president of the Trade Fairs Corporation, Joseph J. Mifsud, said yesterday.
In a bid to make it easier for visitors, the corporation is again making available a free park and ride scheme, which involves a continuous shuttle service from MCAST at Targa Gap, Mosta and Furtu Selvatico School, in Naxxar.
The car parks will be flood lit and security personnel will be employed and paid by the corporation. No one is authorised to ask for any money for parking there and for using the shuttle service, Mr Mifsud stressed.
The fair will be open from 6 to 10.30 p.m. from Mondays to Thursdays and until 11 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Mr Mifsud said visitors always have high expectations of the Trade Fair, even though these days there were many promotions and special offers throughout the year.
But the fair remained the single event at which one could compare different brands and prices within easy reach while service providers did their best to offer products and services at competitive prices.
There will be over 300 exhibitors this year, including stands from countries such as Italy, the UK, which has been a regular exhibitor since 1960, Libya and the US. German products will also be available.
The national stand will have the euro as its theme while Gozo will have its own stand.
The Malta Society for Arts, Manufacture and Commerce will host an exhibition of paintings and sculptures.
Mr Mifsud said next year will mark the 50th fair and the corporation was still very optimistic about obtaining permits for a new tent which is to be set up at Ta' Qali, following the agreement the corporation signed with Sign It. The July 2007 fair will be held at Naxxar.
