Tickets for the Malta Arts Festival - Summer 2006 will be on sale from the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, 230 Republic Street, Valletta as from Monday.
On weekdays, the council will be open between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and on weekends between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
As from July 10, tickets will be available during the same opening hours from the Malta Arts Festival Information Stand, Freedom Square, Valletta.
From July 28, the stand will be open from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and between 5 and 9.30 p.m. on weekdays and in the weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 9.30 p.m.
The festival will run from July 28 to August 20 and much of it will be held at the ruins of the Old Opera House in Valletta. Chamber recitals will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, SUPA theatre performances at MITP theatre, a photographic exhibition at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta and a music-theatre event at the Grand Harbour Marina, Vittoriosa. Freedom Square in Valletta will be transformed into a garden setting with a sculpture exhibition and performance space.
Musicians Carmine Lauri, Enrico Dindo and Roberto Cominati, will be playing a tribute concert in celebration of the birth centenary of the composer Shostakovich.
