Top international fashion houses under one roof
The fashion show held in Taormina recently and screened on RAI Uno
After the success of the Riccardo Muti concert and the involvement in the promotion side of the Andrea Bocelli concert in Taormina, local company Renaissance Productions Ltd will be embarking on another project in conjunction with TV Moda.
Top Italian fashion houses Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferrè, Rocco Barocco, Gai Mattiolo and La Perla will be hosting a fashion show at Fort Manoel, Manoel Island on July 15.
Top local designer Beatrix will also join the international top brands.
Local hairdressers and make-up artistes will also be taking part in the show. Six models, including Stephanie Hodgkins, who was named Best Female Model and Best Photo Model at the recent Malta Fashion Awards, Christine Pillow, Katrin Mari Pavia, Louisa Attard, Sarah Spiteri and Kirsten Buhagiar, will join the group of foreign models, such as Siberian supermodel Ludmilla Radchenko, who recently participated in Mediaset's La Talpa reality show.
Renaissance Productions, comprising Dr Anton Tabone and Mr Amabile Zammit, reached an agreement with TV Moda to host this exclusive show.
Recently, Taormina saw a similar event take place screened on Rai Uno, but the show being held in Malta "will be far greater than the one in Taormina as more fashion houses will be taking part," Mr Zammit said.
"It's the first time a fashion show of such high calibre will be organised here in Malta. We are looking forward to this event and are expecting it to be a very popular one indeed," he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Tabone said that at the Taormina show, which Renaissance also helped organise, Malta was advertised as a tourist destination through the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta in collaboration with Renaissance.
Renaissance are also responsible for tenor Joseph Calleja's concert on July 8, expected to attract over 3,000 people.
Ira Losco and Winter Moods will be performing during the event.
Excerpts of the show will be broadcast in the fashion and culture programmes on Rai Uno, as well as on Sky TV and La 7.
VIP tickets for the fashion show are selling at Lm25 from Diamonds International; Lm15 tickets are available from St James Cavallier, Valletta.
