I was under the impression that the sign reminding drivers to switch off their lights as they exit a tunnel is erected precisely for those absent-minded drivers who forget to switch off.
So why are wardens giving out tickets to those who remember to turn off their headlights as soon as they exit the tunnel and who don't need such signs to remind them?
Is this the latest ploy by wardens in their long repertoire of traps used to augment the local council's finances? Clearly these drivers are not committing a contravention.
