As part of the EQUAL project 'Promoting Equal Opportunities through Empowerment', the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) has developed a transnational partnership titled AGEnder. The objective of the partnership is to:

¤ study and investigate best practices in the area of gender and age management at the European and national levels (France, Malta and Portugal);

¤ raise the awareness of national target publics; and

¤ share experiences and best practices between partners to increase their knowledge of both issues chosen for the AGEnder project.

A transnational meeting was organised in Malta on Thursday and Friday. The first day of the seminar was dedicated to a project conference, and the second to study visits.

During the project conference, Manuela Tomei, from the International Labour Organisation, was invited to give a presentation on 'Gender discrimination and inequalities at work: policy issues and challenges'.

Moreover, during this seminar various interventions were made by the French and Portuguese partners and also by the Maltese Development Partners, including the NCW, MCAST and the GWU.

During the study visit, the French and Portuguese delegates visited the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) and a Maltese private company Inspectra, which employs flexible working conditions.

The aim of these visits was to transfer good practices between transnational partners.
