The Institute of Tourism Studies has launched its prospectus for full-time courses for 2006/2007.
The institute offers a wide spectrum of courses ranging from foundation level to a higher diploma level which is recognised by the University of Malta as a stepping stone to the first degree course in tourism studies.
At the launch, Education Minister Louis Galea said ITS is a major contributor to the economy by providing professionally trained people who are the driving force behind the tourism and hospitality sectors.
ITS application forms for foundation and ESTS programmes of study are to be submitted by June 30, while application forms for certificate/ diploma/higher diploma programmes are to be submitted by August 18.
Minister Galea referred to the Bill currently being debated in Parliament that will provide a legal basis for an institution for tourism studies.
