A 30-month-old girl died yesterday soon after she fell a height of three storeys down the shaft of a house in Marsascala, the police said.

The fatal incident happened at about 8 p.m. but in spite of first aid and being rushed to St Luke's Hospital, the girl died about an hour later.

Duty magistrate Abigail Lofaro has opened an inquiry.
