Pity Revel Barker and others who got booked for turning off headlights "too early". Interesting to notice that I could find no official sign in The Highway Code indicating Lights On through tunnels although Clause 258 does make it obligatory. There is no direction as to when one can turn off the lights. The sign "Lights?" can be interpreted as more of a reminder than anything else.

I must give a pat on the back to the wardens who parked facing the lights close to Coleiro/Independent building. They did a service to drivers coming down the hill from Ta' Giorni and those coming to the right of them. I say did because I haven't seen them for a while. High time they came back and booked those coming on the Ta' Giorni lane and turning right to get onto the single lane to Sliema, and those who keep coming through the red lights and block the way for those who have the right to proceed to San Gwann. Worse still, ticket those who are in the Ta' Giorni lane and expect everyone to stop and let them head towards San Gwann. All drivers coming towards Sliema and Ta' Giorni have enough warning and distance to get into the proper lanes. The same disregard is shown at other intersections and roundabouts.

Wardens will better serve the public if they pay closer attention and ticket drivers who park on pedestrian crossings, right on a Stop sign where drivers wanting to turn will think that they are waiting and giving way to other traffic. Supposedly professional drivers, those who drive coaches, taxis, minibuses and heavy trucks, could keep wardens very busy. Forget the smoke belching and debris flying off the back of trucks, give tickets to drivers who just get in the fast lane and stay put, sometimes with another large truck in the other lane close by. Professional drivers, especially those carrying passengers, often ignore signalling their intentions, travel at too high a speed with passengers on board in built-up areas. I could go on and on but that will be a good start.

I also hope that the Lights Off rules are made clearer by the authorities. The Highway Code doesn't seem to give clear guidance.
