The police last year arraigned four persons for serving alcohol to people aged under 16 years of age, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told Labour MP Adrian Vassallo.

The minister, who was replying to a parliamentary question, said the alcohol had been served in Marsascala, Zurrieq and St Julian's.

One was found guilty and fined Lm500, two were acquitted and the other case was time barred.

The minister also said that in the first five months of this year, the police arraigned 16 persons who were in charge of places of entertainment after 46 persons aged under 16 were found in their establishments.
