I was in a very similar incident to that reported in Daylight Robbery by Revel Barker.

As I exited the regional road tunnel on the St Julians side, I switched off my lights. A female warden immediately signalled me to the side of the road.

When I asked her what was wrong, she told me that I had switched off the lights before the sign, and thus she booked me.

Knowing that arguing with these wardens is useless, I said nothing and drove off. I then realised that on the St Julians exit side of the tunnels, there is no sign to remind one to switch off the lights!

These wardens know that it is cheaper for us to pay the fine than to lose a day's work, and the wasted hours waiting, to go and contest it in front of the tribunal. They are taking advantage of it and we are paying the price.

It is high time these wardens are disciplined.
