Minghi certainly did not disappoint us, the organisers did. I have tried to call them several times but to no avail. When I finally got through, I was told that my comments would be forwarded to the organiser and I left my number. My call was never returned.
When we were told the concert would take place at the Waterfront, we expected an open-air area by the sea, not an unfinished, dusty warehouse. The female audience turned up in smart clothes and high heels only to walk through dust. I heard other people say that at that price we could have gone to the MCC once it was not open-air at all.
Why was the compere so profuse in his thanks to the sponsors, over and over again? At the price we're paying for concert tickets in Malta I hardly feel that the sponsors helped me in any way!
Why was the minimum charge for a drink a Lm2 voucher? What if I were alone and wanted only a bottle of water? Did I have to pay Lm2 for that? Is that what I should be thanking the 'sponsor' for?
Security personnel were more interested in doing something else than ensuring that people stuck to their places. People who had paid Lm20 to be seated and sat at the edge were overwhelmed with people standing on the side and leaning all over them. I thought people would stand at the back, or is it a case of selling as many tickets as possible, whatever the place?
To add insult to injury, a family of three who had paid Lm13 for standing tickets noticed an empty chair and took it in turns to sit on it. Good luck to them! However the seat was in the middle of the row in front of me and I was disturbed several times.
