I refer to the complaint lodged by Joe Agius of Attard in his letter Hospital Phones (June 9).

One can access Maltacom's VoIP Service Ten21 - for cheaper international calling - from any Maltacom telephone line including payphones as long as one opts to use an Easyline card and not a telecard. Easyline cards are simple to use - dial 123 and then follow the instructions printed at the back of the card.

Easyline is so versatile - in fact customers who purchase an Easyline card to communicate with family and friends during their stay in hospital can conveniently use up any remaining credit in the card later on from their telephone line at home. The same Ten21 cheap rates apply whether one calls directly from a fixed line or whether one is using the Easyline prepaid card from a public phone. More good news is that Easyline credit can be purchased on-line at www.maltacom.com or by calling 2121 5000. Maltacom offers the choice of receiving the PIN by SMS, e-mail or the card itself by post.

We hope to have cleared the slight misconception reflected in the letter about making cheap-rate international calls from Maltacom pay phones. In case of any further queries, readers are welcome to contact us through the Maltacom group portal www. maltacom.com or give us a call on the customer care helpline 2121 2121.
