Private health care plan for Gozo

A tailor-made health care scheme has just been launched for Gozitans following an agreement between Laferla Insurance Agency Ltd and Saint James Hospital Group.

The scheme, under the name The Laferla - Saint James (Gozo) Day Case Clinic Health Plan, will cover medical treatment for its members, mostly free of charge, at the Saint James Gozo Clinic, in Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem.

It will be managed by Mercieca Financial Investment Services Limited, who are sub-agents of Laferla Insurance in Gozo.

Officially inaugurated in 2003, the clinic offers a wide range of medical services eliminating the need for Gozo residents to travel to Malta for health-related matters.

The advantages of this scheme include reimbursements for use of the clinic, doctors' expenses during surgery, medical treatments, consultations and X-rays.

Members are also free to opt for their preferred doctors, while still being reimbursed for the service offered according to the policy conditions.

Saint James Hospital Gozo director Robert Sciberras said that the clinic was a vivid example of the group's mission statement to provide the best possible private health care service to the people. He also expressed his confidence that the scheme will be widely used by its members, while also attracting new clients to the clinic.
