Following its tour around Europe and Spain last year, the flamenco spectacle is back on July 1 and 2 at Customs House in Valletta.

Performers and organisers Francesca Grima and Andrej Vujicic are bringing over more "quality authentic flamenco from the heart of Seville".

In fact, this year's spectacle is featuring the legendary gypsy dancer, Carmelilla Montoya, one of flamenco's most celebrated artists, famous for her appearances with Camaron, Familia Montoya, Lole y Manuel, Los Tarantos, and this year's Gitanas, with the Farruco family.

Ms Montoya is joining forces with the unique talents of gypsy dancer Amador Rojas and Ms Grima.

Puerto Flamenco productions are known for their technique, choreography, improvisation and electrifying music. The production has also been enjoying international success with sell-out performances at the Spancir Fest in Croatia, Belgrade's festival of Dom Omladine, the Khamoro Festival in Prague, the Sziget Festival in Budapest, and Miercoles a Compas at Endanza in Seville.

The open-air event starts at 8.30 p.m. in the breathtaking setting of Grand Harbour. Tickets cost Lm7 and are on sale from St James Cavalier in Valletta or at the door.
