The transport authority (ADT) is reconsidering the route of the new road that will link Xemxija with Mellieha, Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett said in Parliament yesterday. He said the route was being reconsidered following meetings with all interested parties.

He said the ADT was working closely with Mepa and other entities to ensure that the route had the least environmental impact possible.

A new public consultation will be held once the proposal is finalised. More detailed environmental and ecological studies would be carried out once the consultation process ended, the minister told Evarist Bartolo (MLP).
