Sixty-five works of art by Luciano Micallef will launch the first retrospective exhibition at the new Bank of Valletta centre in Santa Venera.

The exhibition, which ranges from oils, acrylics, gouache and pastels, to etchings, lino prints, and screen printing, embraces some of his earliest works created in 1966 to four pieces, including two sculptures, which the artist created in 2005.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on June 28 by President Eddie Fenech Adami and bank chairman Roderick Chalmers.

"We are looking forward to this assertive exhibition, which promises once again to be a success," said Maurice de Giorgio, chairman of BOV's Art Exhibitions Committee.

The Retrospective Exhibitions, in their 15th edition, have developed and evolved into established bi-annual events that pay tribute to Malta's leading artists and promote their artistic talent and accomplishments.

The exhibition will be open to the public from June 30 to August 11. As in previous retrospective exhibitions, this show will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue that includes the artist's biography, a critical synopsis on his works and a reproduction of all the exhibits.
