St Edward's College staff were pleasantly surprised recently by a visit from Imad Dino Lubbat, a Palestinian Old Edwardian who was a boarder at the college between 1973 and 1978.

Mr Lubbat was here on a two-day visit with the sole purpose of visiting St Edwards after 28 years.

He said he really enjoyed going down memory lane and was most surprised to find his old dormitory is now a computer-lab and that the old study hall is no more!  He identified himself in one of the old school photos hanging in the main corridor.

Mr Lubbat, who settled in the United States soon after leaving Malta, was pleased to meet some of his teachers from his time. In fact, three of his teachers who are still at St Edward's, Mario Borg, Michael Micallef Trigona and Anthony Sultana volunteered to give him a guided tour around the college.

Mr Lubbat owns and runs a chain of Italian restaurants called Dinotto in Chicago. Before leaving, he offered Old Edwardians an open invitation to visit his restaurants, assuring them of a warm welcome and a good meal!
