After 12 victories in last year's championship in Poland, Borg has now extended his unbeaten record to 17 matches. He is sharing top spot in Group A with Jeff Cundy, of England, who also won five matches.

The joint leaders meet today in a match that could determine the group winner. Borg also plays against Holland's Gerrit bij de Leil today.

In Group E, Simon Zammit beat Ireland's Brendan O'Donoghue 4-2 - 51-27, 72(60)-12, 11-106(78), 81(47)-1, 0-89 and 67-7.

Zammit has now moved up to second in the group alongside O'Donoghue with three wins from four matches. Germany's Patrick Einsle is leading Group E. Today, Zammit plays his final qualifier against Poland's Rafal Jewtuch.

Borg and Zammit are already sure of a place in the last 32 stage.
