¤ The Xaghra Catholic Action Youths are holding a car boot sale near the Kola windmill today from 8 a.m. to noon.

¤ Ghajnsielem celebrates the feast of St Anthony of Padua today with a Pontifical Mass led by Bishop Mario Grech, who will also deliver the panegyric, at 8.30 a.m.

At 6.30 p.m., archpriest Mgr Salv Muscat will celebrate Mass.

The procession with the statue of St Anthony, led by the collegiate chapter of St Peter and St Paul's Basilica in Nadur, accompanied by the St Joseph Band of Ghajnsielem, starts at 7.45 p.m., while the Mnarja Band with play on the church parvis. The Ite Ad Joseph Band will play marches. The feast ends with a Eucharistic blessing.

Various other activities will be held on the occasion of the liturgical feast of St Anthony on Tuesday, including one for Year 6 pupils of Ghajnsielem, Nadur and Qala primary schools.

At 7 p.m., Fr Anthony Theuma will lead a concelebrated Mass which will be attended by all priests named Anthony.

¤ In preparation for the feast of the in Sacred Heart of Jesus, celebrated in Fontana, a horse parade will leave from St Dominic Street, Victoria, at 8.30 a.m., and head towards the parish church of Fontana where they will be blessed by Canon George Bezzina.

At 4.30 p.m., Bishop Mario Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass and administer the Sacrament of Confirmation.

On Tuesday at 7 p.m., Canon Bezzina will lead a concelebrated Mass on Mgr M. Buttigieg Square near Manresa House. He will lead a procession with the holy Eurcharist afterwards.

On Friday at 9.30 p.m., a 'demonstration' with the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with the participation of the Victory Band will take place.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., Canon Bezzina will celebrate Mass for the sick and elderly, during which he will administer Extreme Unction. The Te Deum will be sung. At 6.30 p.m. the solemn translation with the relic of the Holy Cross by Apostolic Vicar Emeritus for Kuwait Mgr Francis Adeodato Micallef, OCD, who will then lead a concelebrated Mass.

From 9.30 p.m. till midnight, the Ite Ad Joseph and La Stella bands will play marches. Fireworks will be let off.

¤ The Gozo Autofest 2006, in aid of the Arka Respite Centre, is being held near the Gozo stadium today from 9 a.m. onwards. The event is being organised by Mario Vella and Aaron Zammit of Gozo Creations. There will be free gifts and prizes, food and drink, and more. For more information call 9944-5708 or 9946-1662.

¤ A coffee morning in aid of the Arka Foundation will be held at the Respite Centre, Ghajnsielem, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. Tickets at Lm1.25 may be obtained from the centre (tel. 2156-5773, 2155-5803 or 2156-0905).

¤ The consecration of all members of the Xaghra Catholic Action is taking place on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at St Joseph Circle in Archpriest Guzepp Diacono Street, Xaghra. Mgr Carmelo Hili will lead a concelebrated Mass.
