Bolstered by its admission into the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC), AmCham Malta is focused on attracting leading American business speakers to Malta. These will be invited to discuss topical subjects with Maltese entrepreneurs interested in developing trade with the United States.
Key interest areas include 'Doing Business via China'; 'Malta as a Base for Oil Exploration Activities in North Africa'; and 'The Potential for Malta's Private Equity Sector: An American Perspective'.
Mark Miceli-Farrugia, AmCham Malta's president, concluded: "We have much to learn from professional American management training!"
AmCham Malta is a non-profit association whose object is to safeguard and promote economic exchanges between the US and Malta.
Over the past year, AmCham has mediated a number of key issues with the American Ambassador, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Committee.
Besides, in conjunction with Malta Enterprise and with US Embassy officials in Malta and overseas, AmCham has, in recent months, organised seminars targeting SMEs doing business with the US.
The most successful events addressed 'Niche Marketing', 'US Investment in Malta', and 'Ways of Minimising Transportation Costs between the USA and Malta'.
In the light of its recent admission to ECACC, AmCham will shortly be submitting its revised statute and revamped logo for approval by the organisation's members.
In winding up his latest meeting, Mr Miceli-Farrugia paid tribute to AmCham Malta's prime sponsors - BOV and FedEx - for their generous support and to AmCham's resourceful members for their continuous generation of events appealing to Maltese businessmen.
