The two Maltese players in the 2006 European Championships in Constanta, Romania, are both through to the last 32 KO stage.
In Group A, Alex Borg won his fourth consecutive match after a 4-1 victory over Juha Erkinmikko. Borg is leading Group A, together with Jeff Cundy. The Englishman also won his first four matches.
There are still three other group matches to go but Borg is already sure of his place in the last 32 stage which starts on Monday. Borg's match was transmitted live on Romanian TV.
From Group E, Simon Zammit is also through to the KO stages. Yesterday, he beat Kostyantyn Kulik, of Ukraine, 4-1. Late on Thursday, he lost his first match, going down 4-1 to Patrick Einsle.
The highest break of the championships so far is held by Jamie Jones, of Wales. He potted a 132.
