Safety forgotten at Mriehel

It is very interesting to note that after all the big fuss over the installation of speed cameras on the Mriehel bypass, the real reason for which they were installed has been forgotten.

The application to install this camera had long been pending with the authorities; however, things came to a head when there was the horrible accident which lead to the death of two young people. The camera was very quickly installed and the snapping began in earnest. The money which was generated was not used for the purpose of safety but to satisfy the "appetite" of the money-making operation that masquerades as being there for the citizen. Till this day there is still nowhere safe to cross that road, no bridge and no underpass... however, the cameras are still there collecting funds!
