On Sunday, June 4 I took yet another photo of the shabby bring-in site which is situated in the vicinity of the San Gwann Parish Church. When this photo was taken the children together with their families and friends had just left the church after celebrating their first Holy Communion. But why make a fuss about this?

According to the WasteServ chief executive officer in his reply to my previous letter on the same subject, carrying a picture, which appeared on May 30, the ongoing educational campaign was proving very effective and successful, to the extent that WasteServ "have now become victims of their own success!"

And he continued: "No matter what action WasteServ takes, it is still a matter of proper civic behaviour by all of us who use these sites, not to create a nuisance and inconvenience to others".

Does it mean that we who are using these sites should keep going to and fro with our waste until WasteServ finds the time to empty the bins? Is this what he referred to as effective and successful?

In my opinion to enhance the service being provided, WasteServ should do one thing: empty the bins more frequently.
