Emirates, an official partner of the World Cup, has bought the rights to broadcast on its flights every game in the 64-match tournament.

Emirates will also broadcast the previous day's matches starting with tomorrow's opening game in Munich between hosts Germany and Costa Rica.

The deal, in association with official FIFA World Cup Middle East broadcaster ART, will provide Emirates passengers with up-to-date action from the world's biggest sports event.

Emirates is also operating dedicated live viewing stations at 16 airports in 10 countries.

The updates service will appear on the text news information channel alongside the BBC News Service.

The agreement to show delayed matches on all flights is the latest football initiative by Emirates, which recently signed up to continue as a FIFA partner from 2007 to 2014 in a $195 million deal, marking the biggest sponsorship agreement in the airline's history.

Meanwhile, Emirates is offering "value-for-money packages" starting from as little as Lm15 in the Dubai summer surprises. Valid from June 21 to September 1, the packages offer Maltese customers a choice of 22 city and beach hotels in various price brackets and are available to all Emirates passengers regardless of class of travel.

Prices are on a per-person, per-night sharing basis and include all accommodation-related taxes and service charges. Passengers must book for a minimum stay of three nights, but have an option to extend their holiday.

As an added attraction, Emirates has this year tied up with Wafi City, one of Dubai's premier malls, to offer customers exclusive discounts at the mall's stores, coffee shops and restaurants.

Wafi City this year is themed on motor sports and visitors will see a display of Formula One cars including the Emirates-sponsored McLaren-Mercedes MP4/21 show car at the mall.

A prime attraction will be the large six-lane Scalextric model electric car racing track specially set up for the Wafi City summer surprises grand prix.

Emirates flies to over 80 destinations in more than 55 countries. The airline operates four flights weekly from Dubai to Malta via Larnaca, Cyprus, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday on A330-200.

Further information can be obtained from the Emirates sales and reservations office at Malta International Airport on 2557 7255.
