Alberta Amato, 20, of Gzira, was yesterday charged with stealing a Piaggio motorbike last Monday, using a false number plate and driving recklessly.

She was also charged with driving a motorbike without a licence and without insurance cover. The motorbike belonged to Andrew Formosa.

The court was asked to treat the accused as a relapser, as she had been found guilty of several cases before.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted.
