The Environment Ministry announced yesterday that it had issued four tenders in line with the government's commitment to lead by example in cutting the use of electricity and using alternative sources of energy.

One of the tenders is for an energy audit to see what can be done to make more efficient use of electricity in government ministries. Another tender in fact refers to the purchase of equipment that uses electricity more efficiently.

The third tender relates to the buying and installation of photovoltaic panels on government buildings and the fourth to buying waste separation bins for offices.
