President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday paid an official visit to Xaghra on the invitation of mayor Joe Spiteri and the town's councillors.

Accompanied by Mrs Fenech Adami, he heard Mass together with the community and met residents on the church parvis where he also saw Gozo lace at an exhibition.

The President was taken to visit the youth centre, the Kola Windmill and the Victory Band Club.

Dr and Mrs Fenech Adami also met Pawla Grech and Vicky Saliba, well known in the town for their qassatat and qaghaq tal-ghasel. They also met Maria Assunta Bajada, who specialises in the production of orange flower water and gulepp.
