Beyond understanding

"Why, Lord, did you remain silent? How could you tolerate all this?" Pope Benedict asked.

God hasn't answered yet and frankly, I doubt if He will.

Us trying to understand the ways of the Lord is like ants trying to understand human beings' behaviour. It is simply beyond our intellectual capacity.

Pope Benedict's questions are an admission that he is at a loss to understand God. Interesting thought that, considering it comes from His vicar on Earth.
