San Giljan Zara will have Marko Cuk, 21, as their foreign player in the Wilkinson Sword National League, starting next week.

Cuk is a Serbia international and plays for Partizan Belgrade, one of the most prestigious European waterpolo clubs. Earlier in his career, he played at all junior levels for his country and last year he featured for the national team in the Mediterranean Games in Spain.

Cuk is a product of VK Vojvodina and in 2001 joined Partizan for whom he played regularly at the highest stages of European competitions.

Last week, San Giljan also acquired the services of Claudio Spiteri de Barro from Marsascala.

Spiteri de Barro returns to the club where he had started off his waterpolo career.

He is the third local signing for San Giljan after Tony Galea and John Xerri de Caro had joined the club earlier this year.
