Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday gave a speech at The Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House, in London, where he spoke mainly about how Malta was preparing for the adoption of the euro.

After his speech Dr Gonzi answered a number of questions from those present on subjects such as illegal immigration, Malta's relations with its neighbours in the Mediterranean and the European Constitution.

Dr Gonzi, whose visit to London was in connection with Malta's chairmanship of the Commonwealth for the next two years, yesterday had a meeting with Commonwealth secretary general Don McKinnon.
