Dale Keller, general manager at Air Malta, flirts, dangerously, with libel in his reply to my letter of May 12 to The Times.
Mr Keller suggests that all relevant departments (of Air Malta) have "no record of a refund request under the name of the signatory". He goes on to ask me for more details so that "he can check if the reservations were made under his (ie. my) name".
Confusion is one thing - filibustering is another. Implications of untruths are a third.
I have before me Air Malta's confirmation (by e- mail) of the flights booked by me in my wife's and my names.
The booking reference (apparently now expunged from Air Malta's records) was FCVOTW. I have a note of the helpful clerk's name and a host of other details, including verbatim comments made on the odd occasion when I was able to speak to anybody.
One extra point. Mr Keller assures me that if I can provide "details of inadequate service" the cancellation fee would be refunded. But, I accepted the cancellation fees from the start. My interest has been the main refund.
