MP files libel suit
Government MP Jason Azzopardi yesterday filed a libel suit against Felix Agius, editor of the newspaper KulHadd.
Dr Azzopardi claimed he had been libelled by an article entitled Jason vs Jesmond, published on May 28. The article alleged that Dr Azzopardi and Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliette did not see eye to eye.
The court was requested to condemn Mr Agius to pay libel damages. Lawyer Joseph Zammit Maempel was counsel to Dr Azzopardi.
