Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and his Cabinet yesterday filed a libel suit against Labour leader Alfred Sant claiming that comments he made during a speech in Zejtun were libellous and defamatory. In the suit, the Prime Minister and the ministers referred to Dr Sant's comments on the rationalisation of development boundary schemes and held him liable in damages.
