The men's national team yesterday started their commitments at the Promotion Cup in Albania with an 87-73 defeat to Andorra in a Group A match which was played in Durrsi.
Bruno Di Pietrantonio's Malta were always behind Andorra in session scores apart from the last quarter which the Maltese won 22-20.
Luxol's Chris Sammut was the best scorer for the Maltese with 16 points.
Andorra relied mainly on forward Daniel Marin Rodriquez. He potted 30 points and was the best scorer of the match.
Malta's other points came from Kristin Baldacchino (11), Silvio Cassar (10), Etienne Bezzina (10), Michael Naudi (9), Dirk Schembri (8), Peter Shoults (4), Steve Schembri (3), Adrian Micallef (2).
