International Hotel Investments plc (IHI) has just completed a €5 million (Lm2.15 million) refurbishment programme of its five-star Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in St George's Bay, St Julians.

The programme started last November and included the complete renovation of the 250 bedrooms, suites, lobby and corridors, as well as the introduction of the latest information technology.

The management team has been strengthened through a series of training courses and the introduction of an extensive customer relations management system.

The Corinthia San Gorg first opened its doors in July 1996, the first hotel in what has now become known as The Golden Mile.

With this latest refurbishment the company is again at the forefront of the development scene, investing heavily in the upmarket accommodation infrastructure of the island, aimed at satisfying the ever-increasing demand for the better quality hotels, a company spokesman said.
